Ladder League

A ladder league is set up so that each team tries to work their way to the top of the ladder. Each "rung" of the ladder consists of a pool of 2 or 3 teams. Each week the teams in a rung play each other and the team with the best record moves up a rung, the team with the worst record moves down a rung, and the other team stays put. For a two team rung, one team moves up and the other moves down. The ladder phase continues for a set number of weeks and then the results are used to seed a single elimination playoff bracket.
